Researchers of the National Institute of Chemistry produce the finest results in the field of material sciences, chemical engineering and chemical analytics.

Research activities in the Laboratory are focused on the synthesis of the organic-inorganic hybrid materials having nanocomposite structure suitable for the preparation of solid electrolytes for photoelectrochemical and electrochromic cells, hydrophobic and oleophobic finishes for cotton fabrics and spectrally selective paint coatings and as dispersant for making paints for various applications.

 

Fundamental research on chemical speciation, elemental imaging, electrochemical sensorics and atmospheric aerosol chemistry for applications of environmental, bio-medical and technological significance, including collaboration with industrial partners.

Leading laboratory in the field of integrated protection of waters, including advanced water treatment processes, ecotoxicology, treatment of domestic and industrial wastes and metrology.

Research in the field of functional food and food supplements. Development of LC, GC, TLC, CE, LC-MS, GC-MS, TLC-MS analytical methods.

The research programme focuses on the development of novel polymers and polymeric materials (popular plastics) with tailored properties for improvement of the quality of life and sustainable development.

Studies of microporous and mesoporous aluminophosphate and silicate materials and metal-organic frameworks for heat and gas storage and for applications in catalysis and pharmacy.

Materials for energy storage and conversion (batteries, fuel cells, supercapacitors) and for health (drug-carrier composites): synthesis, characterization and modeling.

Synthesis and characterization of materials useful for heterogeneous catalysis as well as analysis and design of appropriate reactors.

CVTA plans and conducts analysis and develoment services related to medicines and food.
