Franc Solina: Rough and worked stone, june 2022

Franc Solina, received his PhD in computer science from the University of Pennsylvania in the United States in 1987. In 1991, he founded the Computer Vision Laboratory in the Department of Computer and Information Science. After FRI was separated from the School of Electrical Engineering, she served as its first associate dean for research. Between 2006 and 2010, during the Bologna reform and the preparations for the establishment of a new faculty, he was also its dean. He leads the Computer Vision programme group, which conducts research in computer vision, multimedia, and human-computer interaction.
He has been collaborating with artists since 1995, and for the past decade has been actively involved in the arts, using a combination of computer tools and more traditional sculptural techniques.
His works are thus created at the intersection of scientific-technicaland artistic creativity and research, bringing very specific and at the same time very important aspects of interdisciplinary approaches to the Slovenian art space.

The exhibition will be on view until July 15th, 2022.
