Stane Jagodič: »QUO VADIS HOMO«
Stane Jagodič (1943, Slovenia) is an artist who has left a very convincing mark on the Slovenian art scene and who, despite the rather difficult conditions for international work at the time, managed to work successfully abroad both as an artist and later with Grupa Junij. He is an artist who, shortly after graduating in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana (1970), developed a very specific approach to artistic research and in this sense became one of the most important artists in the former Yugoslavia. With his committed, sometimes dark and paradoxical visual and conceptually intense images, he has created a recognisable artistic language that has literally burned itself into our collective visual memory due to its suggestiveness. He works in various media, from photography, photomontage, painting, graphics and caricature to performance, assemblage and installations.
The exhibition will be on display until April 10, 2025.
