An international conference on minerals entitled »The Munich show, Mineralientage München – World of Minerals, Gems, Jewellery & Fossils« was held in Munich from October 27-29, 2017. The association hosted distinguished experts from various fields giving lectures and presenting their minerals collections. The student of St. Stanislav‘s Institution Ljubljana (Classical Gymnasium), Nik Smerkolj, who is performing the research work under the mentorship of Marko Jeran (group for Organic Synthesis of the NMR Centre, D15), gave a lecture on the color of fluorite minerals and their fluorescence properties (The color of fluorite minerals). Interestingly, Nik was the youngest lecturer who gained a lot of appreciation from the participants.
