Coworkers of National institute of chemistry Slovenia and Faculty of chemistry and chemical technology, University of Ljubljana, together with colleagues from Argonne National Laboratory, USA designed and developed new selective catalyst for low temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEM FC). Fuel cells are besides batteries probably the most promising candidates for automotive aggregates. One of the main problems and reasons that fuel cells are not yet in general application is stability of the system, which is connected with catalyst degradation.
