National Platform Knowledge Transfer Slovenia – the fastest route from the lab to the market

The national platform Knowledge Transfer Slovenia (KTS) represents an important step towards a more connected and effective Slovenian innovation ecosystem. As a single point of entry, it provides companies, researchers, and other stakeholders with easy, transparent, and fast access to the knowledge and technologies of thirteen Slovenian public research institutions. It thus establishes a centralized environment that encourages cooperation, strengthens the flow of knowledge, and opens up new opportunities for the development of high value-added innovations.

For researchers, the platform means greater visibility of their competencies, research results, and technologies, as well as easier access to potential industrial partners at home and abroad. KTS enables them to protect and commercialize their intellectual property more effectively and provides practical tools for contractual cooperation and licensing. In this way, it helps research organizations to transfer their knowledge into practice more quickly and successfully and to increase the social and economic impact of their work.

For companies, the platform significantly shortens the path to relevant knowledge and experts. It enables the search for researchers based on specific competencies, access to innovations and technologies, and networking with spin-off companies. By reducing administrative barriers and increasing the transparency of procedures, KTS accelerates the transformation of research achievements into marketable solutions, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of the Slovenian economy.

The platform also plays an important role in the broader support environment of the innovation ecosystem. It strengthens the professionalization of knowledge transfer offices, promotes the use of good practices of successful partnerships, and increases the transparency of cooperation between research organizations and companies. In doing so, it creates a more connected, trustworthy, and internationally comparable environment for the development of innovation.

The long-term goal of the Knowledge Transfer Slovenia platform is to accelerate the transfer of knowledge into practice, strengthen the country's innovation potential, and more effectively connect science with the economy and wider society.
