Opening of the art exhibition of Andreja Peklar: "Parallel Worlds"

You are cordially invited to the opening of the art exhibition: Andreja Peklar – Parallel Worlds

on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 18:00 in the Gallery of the National Institute of Chemistry

Andreja Peklar is an illustrator, painter, and author of picture books for children, in which she often, through imagery and small wonders from nature, speaks about the fundamental insights of our existence.

After studying art history and philosophy, she enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, where she graduated in painting. She has held numerous solo exhibitions of her illustrations and also participates in major curated exhibitions both in Slovenia and abroad, where she has received several awards. In 2018, her illustrations were selected for one of the most prominent illustration exhibitions at the Bologna Book Fair.

Andreja’s illustrations act as a thoughtful stimulus through which the author activates our primary, childlike, human potential for imagination. The image does not demand explanation, but rather time, through which a connection with the viewer develops based on the fundamental need for things to acquire meaning, purpose, and form. In this way, an invisible part of existence begins to reveal itself into visibility.

The exhibition will be on display until May 25, 2026.
