Prof. Roman Jerala became member of The Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts

Prof. dr. Roman Jerala was elected as new associate member of the The Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts in the section of Mathematical, Physical, Chemical and Technical Sciences.

                              

Election of prof Roman Jerala was justified as follows: New associate member in the section of Mathematical, Physical, Chemical and Technical Sciences is one of the most widely regarded life sciences researchers. He publishes in top journals and lectures at the most prestigious universities. He is credited with discoveries in the field of innate immunity, such as explaining the biochemical mechanism of TLR3,4,9 receptors in infections and cancer, the action of antimalarial medication in treatment of autoimmune diseases, and signaling in the development of B-cell lymphoma. He is one of the pioneers of synthetic biology at home and in the world. He has received many eminent accolades.
