Center for Development, Demonstration and Training for Carbon-Free Technologies
The DUBT center is designed to provide a bridge between academic partners and industry to influence the development of new materials, concepts, methods, standards and future strategies related to the use of batteries for various purposes. The center is also designed as a demonstration learning center that will enable battery and hydrogen technologies to be brought closer to the next user, especially by demonstrating their usability and durability, demonstrating carbon footprint reduction, and supporting training and retraining at various educational levels. The DUBT Center's new infrastructure will also enable innovative approaches to learning and faster retraining of workers to use and work with green technologies.
32,068,940.00 euros have been earmarked for the implementation of the project, of which the Just Transition Fund will contribute 27,258,599.00 euros. Once the center is established (2026), the National Institute of Chemistry will be well placed to acquire and participate in EU projects (some of which are already underway). It will also participate in domestic tenders and conclude bilateral contracts with industry.
