Eva Rajh receives the Krka Research Prize
On Friday, October 21, in Novo mesto, the 52nd Krka Prize for Research was awarded to undergraduate and postgraduate students. The main purpose of the Krka Awards is to promote the research activities of students and postgraduates. In recent years, the topics of the final theses were related to industries such as pharmacy, chemistry, medicine, biotechnology and other related sciences.
Dr. Aleš Rotar, member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Council of the Krka Prize Fund, said, "In a time when society and the world are constantly changing, there are few constants. However, one of them remains: knowledge. This year's Krka Prizes strengthen our conviction that we are on the right track. All the tasks and especially the prizes prove that successful research requires a combination of excellence, insight and perseverance."
This year, 31 young researchers were awarded, including our PhD student Eva Rajh from the Department of Synthetic Biology and Immunology, who received the Krka Prize for her research entitled 'Optimization of RT-LAMP for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 in saliva' (Supervisors: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mojca Benčina, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gregor Gunčar).
