Mojca Benčina recipient of Prometheus in Science Award for excellence in communication

Assoc. prof. dr. Mojca Benčina is the recipient of the Prometheus in Science Award for Excellence in Communication for 2021, awarded by the Slovenian Science Foundation for the achievements of individuals, groups or organizations dedicated to science communication, science and science with the general public.

Assoc. prof. dr. Mojca Benčina is a researcher in the field of immunology, microbiology and synthetic biology, and recently she has focused her many years of research experience in this field on combating coronavirus infections and developing rapid saliva-based tests. She has also been working for several years to popularize her research.

In the years 2019-2021, in addition to publications in international scientific periodicals, which include publications in the most prestigious scientific journals such as: Nature chemical biology, ACS Synthetic Biology, Molecules and others, she participated in many popular publications in print media and articles in television and radio shows, which dealt with the areas in which Benčina is also researching.
