On-site instructions

We suggest to meet in the lobby of the institute on Monday at 12h. From there somebody will show you the way to the restaurant and on the way you will pass the great lecture room and also the smaller seminar room which is adjacent to the small restaurant.

We will have a small seminar room (called Fegeševa soba) available for WG3.

The great lecture room (Velika predavalnica) will be reserved for the WG2, short introduction on Monday 14 - 14.20 and the general assembly on Tuesday 11 - 12h. All rooms have PCs, projectors, eduroam network and a guest WI-FI network. If something special needs to be organised please let us know.

COFFEE BREAK

The coffee break will be served in front of the great lecture room. Right above the great lecture room is a nice place to sit down and talk.

DINNER IN THE CITY

Restaurant Sokol is located in the city centre. It is about 20 minutes on foot and you also get to see a bit of the city on the way. It is possible to take a taxi although we wouldn't recommend it since it will not be able to drop you off at the entrance since the restaurant is located in pedestrian-only zone. The location is also marked on the map (number 4) at the top of this website.

Travelling to Ljubljana:

CAR

Ljubljana can be easily reached by car from the neighbouring cities (Trieste, Venice, Graz, Vienna, Münich). The drive from the border to Ljubljana is, at most, one hour and half.

PLANE

Here is the webpage of the airport: http://www.lju-airport.si/en/Main.
Ljubljana is well connected to some big European cities, however, I presume most of the people will need to change planes during their trip. Airport is close to the city; shuttles, buses and taxis are available or we can help organise transportation in case there will be a bigger group. Ljubljana Airport is about a 20 minutes drive from Ljubljana.

Accomodation:

Here are two hotels that we recommend:

Hotel pri Mraku, http://www.daj-dam.si/ang/Mrak/mrakmain.htm

During the online reservation enter the the following note: 'Kemijski institut, Tea Tomsic'. You can also make the reservation via email: 'sales@hotelmrak.si'. Do not forget to add this note: 'Kemijski institut, Tea Tomsic' to get the discount. The price includes breakfast and should be 56.2€ per night.

City hotel, http://www.cityhotel-ljubljana.com/index_en.htm

The price includes breakfast and should be 76.2€ or 91.2€ (depends on the room) per night. You can acces the special reservation site for WG2&WG3 meeting event here.

These two are located in the city centre. There are also other hotels that are either more peripheral to the city centre or are more expensive. We think Hotel pri Mraku could be the one to choose. It is in the centre of the city and also closest to the institute. Please let us know how to proceed. We will need to act soon on that, as Ljubljana has become a very attractive tourist destination. Please find some info about Ljubljana at the following links:

The institute is located close to the city centre and can be reached by taxi or by walking (up to 15 min from the city centre).
