Scientific partnership SLO-ILL

The National Institute of Chemistry hosted a workshop on neutron scattering as part of a scientific partnership with the Max von Laue–Paul Langevin Institute (ILL), which concluded in August 2020.

At the one-day mini-workshop, four leading scientists from the ILL Institute - Mark Johnson, Thomas Hansen, Ralf Schweins and Paul Steffens - introduced participants to the possibilities and encouraged them to pursue neutron scattering research. In seven shorter presentations, researchers from three Slovenian institutions (National Institute of Chemistry, Jožef Stefan Institute, University of Nova Gorica) presented the results of their latest studies with neutrons.

The Max von Laue–Paul Langevin Institute, based in Grenoble, France, is the world’s leading research center for neutron scattering. It acts as a supporting scientific institute, providing visiting scientists from around the world with a state-of-the-art research infrastructure and all the professional support they need to carry out neutron scattering research.
