Odsek za anorgansko kemijo in tehnologijo
Odsek za anorgansko kemijo in tehnologijo se ukvarja z načrtovanjem in razvojem anorganskih adsorbentov in katalizatorjev za sodobne trajnostne rešitve na področju energije in okolja. Raziskovalno delo je usmerjeno v poglobljeno razumevanje povezav med strukturo materialov, njihovo kemijsko sestavo ter funkcionalnimi lastnostmi, vse do stopnje dokaza delovanja koncepta. Poseben poudarek namenjamo razvoju in uporabi naprednih karakterizacijskih metod na osnovi difrakcije in spektroskopije med delovanjem materialov, zlasti z uporabo in-situ in operando pristopov.
Odsek je organiziran v dva laboratorija. Laboratorij za adsorbente se osredotoča na razvoj materialov za učinkovito upravljanje plinov in toplote, vključno z zajemom, ločevanjem, regulacijo in shranjevanjem, pri čemer daje poudarek na poglobljeno razumevanje njihovih sorpcijskih in strukturnih lastnosti. Laboratorij za katalizatorje pa razvija katalizatorje in fotokatalizatorje za čiščenje zraka in vode ter za pretvorbo CO₂ in ogljikovodikov v uporabne kemikalije. Skupni cilj obeh laboratorijev je razvoj učinkovitih materialov, ki prispevajo k reševanju ključnih energijskih in okoljskih izzivov.
