Oblikovanje in razvoj anorganskih adsorbentov in katalizatorjev za okoljske in energijske aplikacije kot so shranjevanje toplote in plinov, čiščenje zraka in vode ter predelava biomase v kemikalije in goriva. Poudarek je na razumevanju povezave med strukturnimi in uporabnimi lastnostmi poroznih materialov s pomočjo naprednih karakterizacijskih metod, kot so XRD, NMR v trdnem, XAS, in modeliranja na atomskem nivoju.
