N1-0079 Napredne NMR metode za študij paramagnetnih in lokalno neurejenih katalitskih materialov

1. VSEBINSKI OPIS PROJEKTA:
NMR spektroskopija je izredno močno orodje za strukturno in funkcionalno analizo materialov, še posebej če je podprta s kvantno-kemijskimi računi in modeliranjem. V okviru projekta bomo razširili uporabnost NMR metod za študij paramagnetnih katalizatorjev in za študij heterogenih, neurejenih katalizatorjev. Na nizu bakrovih kovinsko-organskih materialov (MOFov), ki nam bodo služili kot testni materiali, bomo optimizirali NMR meritve in ab-initio izračune paramagnetno induciranih NMR premikov. Tako bomo določili primeren pristop za zanesljivo asignacijo NMR signalov takih paramagnetnih materialov. Z našim pristopom bomo nato preučevali nove porozne katalizatorje in katalitske procese, v katere bodo ti katalizatorji vključeni. S kombinacijo NMR meritev in kvantnih računov bomo identificirali vmesne produkte in osvetlili mehanizem katalitskih procesov. V drugem delu projekta bomo s pomočjo metode, ki temelji na NMR meritvi spinske difuzije, določili porazdelitev katalitskih mest v MOFih in v zeolitih. V MOFu tipa UiO-66 bodo katalitski centri fukcionalizirani in manjkajoči organski ligandi v ogrodju, v zeolitih pa bodo to Brønstedovi in Lewisovi kisli centri. Na mesta manjkajočih ligandov in na Lewisova mesta bomo pripeli organske molekule, ki nam bodo služile kot drobne lokalne sonde. Z NMR meritvami in modeliranjem bomo raziskali razdalje med temi molekulami v MOFu oziroma med molekulami, pripetimi na Lewisova mesta, in Brønstedovimi mesti v zeolitu. Pridobljene informacije o porazdelitvi aktivnih mest bodo izjemno pomembne za načrtovanje in oblikovanje novih katalizatorjev.
Zgoraj opisano delo v okviru projekta je formalno razdeljeno na naslednje štiri sklope:
